Claus Porto

In 1887 Ferdinand Claus and Georger Ph. Schweder, two German immigrants to Portugal, started in Porto the first national soap and perfumes factory. At this time fine gentlemen’s soap was produced mainly for the aristocracy.

In the 1920's the company was taken over by their partners Achiles and Alfonso de Brito. Since then, the company maintained its importance as a leading manufacturer of luxury soaps in Portugal and eventually returned to the name of its founder, Claus Porto.

With its vintage design and unique label, Claus Porto started to expand into international markets in the nineties and succeeded in conquering fans through the exceptional quality of its products.
